What "mil" actually means

A mil is 1/1,000 of an inch — the thickness of the clear wear layer on top of the plank. It's the part that takes the scratches, so it's the single biggest factor in how long your floor lasts. Thicker wear layer = longer life.

Your 1–2 day install — what to expect

1. Before we start: we confirm your subfloor is sound and let the planks acclimate to your home.
2. Day 1: we protect and clear the rooms, prep and level the subfloor, then begin laying plank.
3. Day 2 (if needed): finish install, cut in transitions and trim, reset baseboards, full clean-up.
4. Same day you're done: walkthrough + a simple care guide — and you can walk on it right away.

When vinyl plank isn't the right call

We'd rather lose the sale than float a floor over a problem. We'll tell you up front if:

• Your subfloor needs leveling or moisture sealing first.
• A failing or very uneven slab needs repair before any install.
• Refinishing your existing hardwood is the better long-term value for your home.

An honest "not yet" or "not this" saves you money — and it's how we earn Shoreline referrals.
