Water-Based Urethane Finishes: The Sustainable Choice"

Eco-friendly finishing options

We understand the importance of eco-friendly practices, both for your family and ours. If you're seeking a sustainable and durable alternative to traditional oil-based polyurethanes, we offer a range of stains and finishes that are low in VOC (volatile organic compounds) and environmentally friendly. Here are some of our Green Flooring Products that align with our commitment to sustainability and your desire for eco-friendly options.

Introducing Bona's Green Flooring Products

At Fisher Hardwood Flooring, we offer water-based urethane finishes as part of our Green Flooring Products. These finishes are composed of synthetic resins, plasticizers, and other film-forming substances, resulting in a durable and moisture-resistant surface. The water-based urethane finishes we provide are clear, non-yellowing, and come in satin, semi-gloss, and gloss sheens to suit your preferences. Compared to oil-modified finishes, they have a milder odor and typically dry within two to three hours.

We utilize Bona Water-Based Finishes and Poloplaz Water-Based Finishes, both of which are available in residential and commercial grades. These products offer excellent durability, sustainability, and a beautiful finish, aligning with our commitment to providing eco-friendly options for our customers.

Bona Traffic HD

Bona Traffic HD is one of the Green Flooring Products we offer at Fisher Hardwood Flooring. This product is an excellent choice for homeowners who want a durable, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing finish for their hardwood floors. Bona Traffic HD outperforms other urethane finishes in terms of durability, even after just 24 hours of application. Moreover, it is certified by GREENGUARD Children & Schools, which guarantees that it meets strict standards for indoor air quality and is safe for use in environments where children and schools are present.

Bona AmberSeal

Another Green Flooring Product we offer is Bona AmberSeal. This product is a waterborne sanding sealer that provides a non-yellowing, poly-tone finish to hardwood floors, giving them the appearance of an oil-based finish. Bona AmberSeal is compatible with all Bona waterborne finishes and can be used on both stained and unstained floors.

Bona AmberSeal offers several benefits, including excellent abradability, fast dry times, and reduces the potential for sidebonding and tannin bleed. It is also nonflammable and virtually odorless, making it a convenient option for use in various settings. Additionally, Bona AmberSeal is certified by GREENGUARD, ensuring that it meets strict standards for indoor air quality.

Bona Mega

Bona Mega is another remarkable Green Flooring Product offered by Fisher Hardwood Flooring. This product made a significant impact on the wooden coatings industry when it was introduced in 1995. Its pioneering crosslinking technology in a waterborne formula set it apart from others in the market. Bona Mega's unique formula reacts with oxygen, providing the benefits of a two-component product without the need for separate mixing.

One of the notable features of Bona Mega is that it contains vegetable oils, which are renewable resources. This makes it an environmentally sustainable choice for the future. In fact, the innovative process used in the production of Bona Mega has already saved 8 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. This showcases the product's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Furthermore, Bona Mega has expanded its range with the introduction of Bona Mega Extra Matt. This variant offers an extremely low gloss level, creating a finish that is nearly invisible and resembles the natural beauty of wood.
